Need Christmas Ideas???

Christmas is just around the corner. Are you looking for some different gift ideas? Maybe you have someone who loves Bath and Body items but can't handle the scents or has sensitive skin. Well, Shaklee has Moisturizing Shower Gel, Hand and Body Lotion and Shea Butter Cream that makes a great gift for anyone.

The Moisturizing Shower Gel is a luxurious, soap-free, ph balanced cleanser which hydrates your skin. It is formulated with copper, manganese, zinc and trace elements from the sea. It has Vitamin E which increases natural moisture retention and softens the skin and is hypoallergenic. I love this Shower Gel. It smells wonderful and resfreshing. I use it every morning and have one in each shower.

The Hand and Body Lotion is wonderful also. Use very little and it works into your skin so nice and does not feel greasy at all. It has a six-hour moisture infusion....I don't know what that means, but from using it, I know that your skin does not feel dry for a very long time This lotion is fortified with pro-vitamin B6, which is known to help strengthen nails and cuticles and is also hypoallergenic. My nephew, at the age of 5 or 6, was having exzema problems on his feet. They would get dry and crack really bad in the winter. I gave him some Hand and Body Lotion and it helped his feet so much. Everytime I would bring a new bottle of lotion, he was so excited and said "Oh, my favorite lotion".....He knows a good thing when he sees it...or feels it in this case.

You could also try our Ultra Moisturizing Shea Butter Cream. I have not used this product as of yet, but it sounds great. Shea Butter is extracted from the fruit of the shea tree which as been long treasured for its amazing moisturizing properties. The cream soaks deep into the skin, leaving it smooth and hydrated. Vitamin E has been added for extra nourishment and just of whisper of light fragrance. I think I will have to try this in the near future.

So, Shower Gel, Lotion, Shea Butter and throw in a shower sponge and you have a great Christmas gift that any woman would love to have. Some men would like it too...we all know most men could use a little more softening up.

Check back for more ideas. Stay healthy and Go Green!

Weight Management???

I am not sure what weight management is but I do know it is hard to manage your weight. So far I am not doing a great job. As of this week I need to refocus and start writing down foods again. I was good for a week and then, bam, I seem to have forgotten about it or had some excuse for not doing it.....But I did get my walk/run in a couple of times.

Part of watching my weight contains drinking a Soy Cinch Shake Mix from Shaklee most mornings. It is a complete meal with 24 grams of protein so it fills me up and gives me some energy. Drinking the cinch helps me preserve what little good lean muscle I do have because Cinch is a Pro leucine-enhanced protein blend. Meaning, the leucine in Cinch helps preserve the muscle that you have and will also rebuild your muscle instead of losing muscle as many people do when they diet. Cinch comes in 4 flavors, Vanilla (tastes like Angel Food Cake), Chocolate, Cafe Latte (my favorite mixed with Choc.) and Strawberry.

The Cinch Shake Mix benefits are:
  • 24 grams of protein when prepared as directed
  • Powered by Leucine
  • 35% of the Daily Value for 21 vitamins and minerals
  • 6 grams of dietary fiber
  • Low glycemic index
  • Lactose free
  • Non-GMO soy protein
  • Gluten free
  • No artificial flavors, colors or sweetener

Shaklee also has a Cinch Shake Mix - which is a Whey Protein Blend - Nonsoy Formula.

Shaklee recommends as part of their weight management program to drink the Shake Mix two times a day. As of right now I can't seem to commit drinking my meals twice a day. I do like to chew my food. But there are some other products that you can chew on to go along with this weight program. I will talk about those products another time. As for now, I will continue to drink one shake a day and continue my walk/run 3-4 times a week and try to get some sort of consistency going first. Oh and yes, write down my food also.

Treadmills, Food Diarys......Uugh!!

So does anyone watch The Biggest Loser (TBL)? I do and I love watching but thinking, "I don't think I could do what these people are doing. They work their *** off." Since it started, my daughter Crystal, who is the oldest and lives the farthest away, decided that I should walk on the treadmill while watching TBL. They do this at her gym so she thought that would be a good thing for me. I actually agree that it is a good idea, I guess. Just about everyday now I get a text asking if I got my walk in. (I don't think she realizes TBL is on only once a week at my house.) But oh well. I will try and get 3-4 days of good walking/running on the treadmill.

Food Diary....Now my coach, Crystal, has me filling out a food diary. This is a hard thing to do also. I tried to avoid this for as long as possible, but I finally caved. Everything....has to be written down. I don't really like what I write down. I actually enter everything in a website called dailyplate.livestrong.com. This website figures the calorie intake for each item. My choices of food are not always very healthy and seems to be alot of junk like cookies, rolls, pop, crackers, sunflower kernels...whatever goes in your mouth. But I do eat some healthy food. I like lettuce, fruit, vegetables and yogurt. I am only on my 2nd day of the Food Diary so wish me luck cuz I am going to need it.

But I must say, Thank you to my coach for caring enough to encourage me to get started on the road to becoming healthier (skinnier).

Blogging World....Here I Come...
OK, I am going to give this the ol' college try. I have been reading lots of blogs but not writing them, so this is going to be a new experience for me.

I went to the movie Julie and Julia. If you have not seen the movie, it is about a young married couple who move into a tiny apartment with the tiniest kitchen ever. Julie (wifes name) loves to cook. Julia (Child) on the other hand has a huge home with a large kitchen and doesn't know how to boil water. To make a long story short, Julie decides to give herself 1 year to blog about each and every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook. The movie goes back and forth in time showing the frustrations that Julia goes thru learning how to cook, write a cookbook and publish the cookbook and Julie cooking everything in the cookbook. Very cute movie.

This movie gave me an idea. Why couldn't I blog about each and every product in the Shaklee catalog? So this the goal:)
